  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and spray a large loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, bread crumbs, chopped onion, ground beef, milk, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, tomato paste, minced garlic, and garlic powder. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the greased loaf pan.
  4. For the sauce, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Pour half of the sauce over the meatloaf and bake for 30 minutes. Add the remaining sauce and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Let rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
