  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 large egg yolk (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 24 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugars until combined.
  3. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Chill the dough for 30 minutes after mixing the dry ingredients.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
