- 1/2 cup warm soy milk
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1 1/2 cups cooled Japanese curry (with vegetables)
- Neutral oil for cooking
- Breadcrumbs for coating
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine bread flour, all-purpose flour, corn starch, salt, sugar, and yeast. Mix well.
- Add warm soy milk and neutral oil. Knead until smooth, then let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, prepare the filling: cook diced vegetables in water until tender; add Japanese curry cubes until dissolved.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces. Roll each piece into circles and fill with cooled curry mixture. Pinch seams tightly to seal.
- For frying: Heat neutral oil in a pan over medium heat and fry buns until golden brown on all sides.
- For baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), brush buns with soy milk mixture, coat with breadcrumbs, and bake for about 20–25 minutes until golden.
