Ingredients
- 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries (rinsed and picked through, discarding any that are bruised, shriveled or soft)
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 Granny Smith apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
- Grated zest and juice of 1 orange
- Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until the skins pop.
- Stir in chopped apple, orange zest, orange juice, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Continue cooking for another 15-20 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely; the sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
