  • 12 lollipop or popsicle sticks
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert sticks firmly into each apple and place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper coated in cooking spray.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat, stirring until boiling. Cook until it reaches 300ºF (hard crack stage).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring.
  4. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, swirling to coat thoroughly. Allow excess to drip back before placing on the prepared cookie sheet.
