Description

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground round
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 12-count package Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 jalapeno, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground round until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and barbecue sauce. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. On a baking sheet, layer the bottom half of Hawaiian rolls with half of the shredded cheese. Spread the meat mixture on top, followed by jalapenos, crispy onions, and remaining cheese. Cap with the top half of rolls and cover with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
