  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 slices of bread (Italian or sourdough)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Flatten chicken breasts to an even thickness and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and basil.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, and finally coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the breaded chicken until golden brown on both sides.
