Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 (20 oz) can apple pie filling (diced)
  • 1 1/2 cups toffee chips (divided)
  • 1 1/4 cups caramel sauce (divided)
  • 34 cups whipped cream (or cool whip)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix both sugars until smooth. Add melted butter, then stir in eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the wet ingredients; mix until smooth.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared dish. Spread apple pie filling on top and sprinkle with 1 cup of toffee chips. Pour remaining batter over the top and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, poke holes in the cake while hot and pour caramel sauce over it to absorb.
  8. Cool completely before topping with whipped cream, remaining caramel sauce, and extra toffee bits.
